The item is semi-circular in plan, and retangular in cross section. It appears to be incomplete, with clean and linear break points on the two ends of the circular frame suggesting it has been cut, perhaps before it was intended to be melted down. On what is presumably the front facing surface of the component, there are two parrallel grooves which run along the circumference of the inside edge. The artefact is sub oval in plan, and oval in section. One surface has a row of indented parallel line. The edges are incomplete and exhibit breaks, suggesting it was part of a larger object. Both surfaces are covered with scratchings. It is probably a clippped silver coin.

A silver unidentified object, probably post medieval to modern dating from the 18th to 19th century AD. The object is a piece of sheet silver that has been folded in on itself and is now triangular shaped. On the outer surface is a monogram, this possibly includes an H or a J. There is no decoration on the reverse, and there is still traces of mud within the folds. The object is very worn and broken. It is a bright silver grey colour, and measures 23.4mm in length, 18.2mm in width, 4.2mm in thickness and weighs 2.15g.

Discussion: The dating of this object is based on the hallmark, being a cut-corner oblong used from 1736 to1739 which is an elongated version of that used in 1720 (Judy Rudoe, pers. comms.).

The object consists of a D-section length of silver metal twisted into a spiral. One end of the piece of silver tapers to a blunt point, the other a point. No makers' marks are present on the interior or exterior. There is a ridge running along the length of the spiral, along one edge. It has four turns and a dark patina.

Unidentified object made from silver (ungilded, despite the colour in the photograph). The upper part was originally hemispherical, but is now crushed. It is decorated with a ring-and-dot design which is in fact closer to a repoussé pellet within a double circular groove. In between are meandering lines of rocker-arm or wriggle-work, with pairs of parallel lines forming strapwork in places.
The hemispherical upper part has a ridge at its rim, then a separate soldered-on collar made from similar silver sheet. This is undecorated except for a slighter ridge near its open edge.

A fragment of probable silver inlay. It consists of thin piece of silver metal, decorated on one side. The lower edge is curved. The decoration consists of crossing fleur-de-lys or leaf-tendrils forming an inward pointing triangle in which is a further leaf-motif. This decoration is set against a back-ground of roughly incised lines which could represent the keying for enamel or niello inlay although the cells lack sufficient depth to retain inlay.

A small silver fragment, probably a brooch fragment dating to the early medieval (early Anglo-Saxon) period c.AD 450-600.
The rectangular fragment carries a humanoid face with thick curved brows, a wedge-shaped nose and two sub-oval pellets for eyes. Below the nose is a row of three raised transverse ridges that are punctuated with a central longitudinal groove. The reverse is undecorated. Silver unidentified object. Hollow hemispherical boss with a smooth internal surface and a textured outer surface retaining extensive traces of gilding and six short lengths of probably silver drawn wire of diameter 2.1mm. The latter are presumably relicts of a more complex arrangement of coils. Partly melted on its display side, but with a pale buff coating within. Description: Gilded silver object with niello inlay and Salin's Style I decoration dating it to the early Anglo-Saxon period. It is a heavy, three-dimensional object cast in one piece, perhaps imitating a buckle frame and pin, or alternatively a sword-ring.

Description:
A silver object of unidentified function, possibly early medieval in date. The object is sub-triangular in plan, domed through the centre and tapering towards a flat, integral tab-like terminal. The edges and all the surfaces are damaged and scratched. There are traces of possible incised decoration near the upper edge and continuing over the domed mid-section, heavily worn and damaged but potentially comprising an interlace motif of some description. The underside is hollow and plain.
