A complete, silver, Post-Medieval Scottish twenty pence of Charles I (AD 1625-1649), third coinage, Falconer's second issue, dating to the period AD1637 - 1642. New bust with XX behind, worn at lower edge so it is unclear whether the bust breaks the inner circle. Crowned and leaved thistle on reverse. See Seaby 1984, Coins of Scotland and Ireland, nos. 5589-5590 Obverse: Crowned bust left, XX behind. Legend: CAR DG MAG BRIT FR AN ET HIB R Reverse: Crowned thistle. Object is a silver, Post Medieval half groat of Charles I (AD1625-1649). The coin has been bent to form an 'S' shape profile, possibly as a love token. The obverse is very worn and polished, bust detail unclear but bust facing west with II behind head is visible. Legend around, but only F:ET:H:RE is visible (from CAROLVS·D:G:MB:F:ET:H:REX). The reverse is less worn, the oval quartered shield of arms is discernible, legend around but only TITIA TH is visible (from IVSTITIA THRONVM FIRMAT). Die axis 1 o’clock..

A complete but bent Post Medieval Group D silver half groat of Charles I dating from AD 1631 - 1649. Initial mark is illegible. North number 2254 - 2258. The coin is 16.4mm in diameter, 2.6mm thick (in it's bent state) and weighs 0.66g.  The metal of the coin is 0.2mm thick.
