A post medieval silver spoon, stylistically probably dating to the late 18th century. The spoon has a concave oval bowl with a standard flared handle of flattened cross-section with a rounded terminal. The underside of the terminal has the engraved letters A S, which were presumably the owners initials. There are also a set of hallmarks on the underside, but they are only partially legible and of no use in dating this item. It is 124.2mm in length, and the bowl measures 42.0 long by 24.8 wide and is 6.4mm deep. The spoon weighs 10.5g. Similar engraved spoons are recorded on the …

Post medieval silver spoon. The bowl is complete but very distorted, and the handle is incomplete - approximately 28mm is still there but it is also bent. The handle is attached to the bowl by a rat-tail which terminates at the mid-point of the bowl, which is shallowly concave and oval. The handle is d-shaped in profile and has unclear hallmarks and a makers mark (which appears to be T M within a rectangular recess) on the flattened underside. Probably 19th century.

A Post Medieval silver spoon. The spoon has an oval shaped bowl. The stem is narrow at the bowl end and expands outwards towards the rounded terminal end. The stem is flat and rectangular in section. The reverse of the spoon bowl has traces of moulded decoration in the form of a scrolling tendril design. At the centre of the stem, at its narrowest part, are several marks. These may be due to surface wear, however, there is a possibility that they may be traces of a hallmark. On the reverse of the terminal are the engraved letters 'E T' which may denote the initials of the owner, The s…
