An incomplete silver military identity bracelet dated 1935. The bracelet consists of two elements; a sub-rectangular central 'tag' section with rounded attachment lugs at either end, to which is attached a length of thickset silver chain that originally would have enclosed the wearers wrist. The upper surface of the tag is engraved with the name CARL BRUNNER in capital letters, below which is the service number 6876971. The reverse (inner) face of the tag d…

Object type: JEWELLERY FITTING
Broad period: MODERN
County: Suffolk
Workflow stage: Published Find published
Silver leaf-shaped object made from two crudely-cut silver sheet pieces fitted together, perhaps part of a jewellery ensemble or ear-ring. The lower element made from re-used metal, though The British Museum Department of Coins and Medals do not think this to be a coin re-used. Upper side decorated with swirling lines with small pierced hole perhaps for suspension. The style and facture suggest a recent dating for this object, perhaps Ethnographic. As the find in all probability dates to later than 1707 it falls outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996.
