Silver hawk-ring or vervel of Lewis and Richardson type C.ii, consisting of a D-section ring with a shield-shaped plate soldered to the flat outer face. There is a small gap between the ends of the ring at the junction with the plate. The flat outer surface of the hoop is engraved:

This fragment, about 1/3rd of a silver finger ring, now distorted, consists of a flat plain band which expands fairly sharply to a rectangular bezel with engraved decoration consisting of a transverse band of short closely spaced lines at the junction between band and bezel, a circle with four lines through it, and a further transverse band of lines across which the bezel is broken.

Silver finger ring, distorted. Lozengiform bezel, the ends of which taper smoothly to become the band, the ends of which are now broken but would originally have wound around each other. Cf. a more complete and decorated example from Thetford illustrated in Rogerson and Dallas (1984, 71, fig.110, no.12).

Gilded silver hat-hook. A nine-petalled flower with a central boss from which radiate closely spaced grooves. The outer edge of the petals are angled downwards. The plate is flat on the reverse with a soldered silver hook which is bent back on itself to form an s-shape. The front of the plate is gilded.
16th century silver gilt cap-hooks are illustrated in Gaimster et al (2002, 170 - 171, fig.13 - 15) although none are a close parallel for this example.

Silver gilt maidenhead knop from a spoon. Female head and shoulders emerging from rounded petals or leaves from between which five longer, thinner petals project. The bust has long, straight hair at the back indicated by engraved lines, a band around the head with five engraved radiating lines indicating hair parting at the top of the head, and moulded ears, eyes, nose and mouth. Broken below leaves, none of the stem survives.

Double sided engraved decoration consisting (from the top) of an upward pointing V above a pair of transverse lines, from the upper of which longitudinal lines follow the shape of the 'V'. Three pairs of tiny stamped lines or dashes before another pair of transverse lines, below which is a longitudinal slot with dashes to either side. Traces of gilding. Bowl and most of stem missing. Date: 16th - 17th century. Dimensions: Diameter of head at max. 11mm, length (at least) 16mm. The age and precious metal content of this item therefore qualify it as treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.

A Post-Medieval silver strap end consisting of a rectangular sheet with a straight attachment edge, and rounded angles at the terminal. These curve inwards to a notched (scallop-like) central lobe in the centre of outside edge and both sides. The item also has two elongated inward-pointing separate flat-sectioned 'spikes' on the reverse, one (vertical) at base and one (horizontal) on one side at upper edge, and a slightly oblique oval perforation in centre at attachment edge.
Measurements: 19 x 27mm.
