Description: A complete Medieval to Post Medieval gilt silver hat badge (dress hook) dating to circa AD 1500-1550. It consists of a discoidal plate with recessed panel and separately made soldered S-shape hook projecting from the reverse. The S-shaped hook tapers into a point and is now flattened. The plate contains a border of two concentric circles of moulded twisted rope design. Description: A complete gilded silver openwork eye-element of a two-piece hooked clasp or dress fastener. The object is very roughly D-shaped with a curved outer edge and straight inner edge. It is pierced with two longitudinally aligned rows of small circular holes flanking a moulded heart design in the centre of the outer face. An incomplete Post-Medieval silver gilt dress hook, dating to c.AD 1500 - 1600. The main body is circular with small knop projections. The front of the dress hook is decorated at the outer edge with a wreath formed of six, six petalled flowers, in the centre is a small love heart. The rear of the hook is undecorated, it retains a rectangular sectioned horizontally set rectangular loop, projecting from the lower edge is an incomplete circular sectioned hook that terminates in an old break.

A complete Post Medieval silver-gilt floral cap/hat hook of Read’s (2008) Class A, Type 1 dating to the 16th Century.
This decorative cap/hat hook plate is in the form of a five petalled rose. It comprises a circular back plate (14.64mm diameter) with irregularly notched edges creating a scalloped edge and a pierced centre to accomodate the rove pin. A small cast plate with four projecting leaves framing either side of a sunken heart-shaped hollow, and with the stub of a short backward pointing hook below, Read early post-medieval Class M Type 2. Three round holes appear within the sunken heart and would presumably permit stitched attachment. The presence of gilding on the display side was noted when images were worked up for presentation. A complete silver gilt eye-section from a hook and eye dress fastener of post medieval date (c. 1500-1700) and of Read (2008) Class B type 2. The dress fastener is 30.3mm in length and consists of a disc of 18mm diameter with a wire loop soldered on to the reverse. The disc, which is incomplete, has a twisted filigree border and is decorated with five convex bosses, also with filigree borders, surrounding a smaller boss at the centre. Description:
An incomplete silver-gilt dress hook of Post-Medieval date. Read’s Class D, Type 6.
The object comprises a flat trefoil backplate with engrailed edges and a trefoil of hollow domed bosses to the upper surface. Each boss has a trefoil of large annulets of twisted wire filigree. The six outermost annulets encircle a small annulet and granule. The three innermost annulets have lost their decoration though the application scars remain. A circular perforation is present through the backplate, at the centre of the bosses.

A complete gilded silver composite dress hook. It consists of a back plate, sub triangular in shape, with saw-tooth edges. From each of the three corners of the backplate project three hemispherical domes.

Description: An incomplete silver-gilt dress hook. The main plate is lozenge-shaped, decorated in relief with a central quatrefoil and pellet and a border of sixteen pellets within wire annulets. On the reverse is a complete hook soldered to the lower half of the plate. The hook tapers down and then curves back upon itself to form a U-shape. The hook tapers to a sharp point. Above the hook the wire loop is now missing but the points at which it was fixed are apparent. The object shows signs of tarnishing and gilding adheres to the face of the plate and the top of the hook.

Triangular dress-hook; cusped backplate applied with recurving hook (broken) , attachment bar missing. On the front three hemispheres with filigree roundels and central knops; at the centre a pin with shank attaching it to the backplate, with small pierced circle of silver in form of a flowerhead which fits in middle of the dress fitting. The shank is damaged and the flower-head element is loose; it would originally have been attached to the shank by a domed-headed pin. Approx. 2.9 cm in length.
