Silver short cross penny of Henry III (1216-1272), Class 6a (1210-1213), moneyer Abel, mint London. Abel was a moneyer in London from Class 5c to 7a, but this coin most closely matches those of Class 6a (Mass 2001, plate 64, no.1740). The coin is broken in half with a segment missing where the X of REX would have been. The obverse bears the crowned head facing with sceptre to the left. On the reverse the N and D of LVND are ligated.

A fragment of a silver long cross penny, half of it missing and clipped round the edge. Very little is visible on the obverse, but the reverse is from the York mint, with a plain quatrefoil in the centre of the cross (without central cross or pellet). None of the letters are legible. This form of reverse belongs to coins minted at York, either in the reign of Henry IV (light coinage 1412-1413) or Henry VI (First reign, 1427-1430) according to Wren (1995, pp.105 & 113).
