Silver brooch. A composite item comprising a shallow [c.2mm] elongated plain box formed of sheet metal of thickness 0.3mm, with engrailed edges and trefoil ends, with a separate front plate of thickness 0.4mm bearing a stamped motif of veined maple leaves extending across three linked fields, the central part being round and the outer edges engrailed. A series of tiny spherical knops of diameter 1.5mm appears along the outer edge of the box, to which they are soldered. The seat for a hinged pin is set at one end of the plain back.
