An incomplete copper-alloy Roman nummus coin of the House of Constantine, dating to the period c.AD 330-335 (Reece Period 17). [GLORIA EXERCITVS] reverse type depicting two soldiers standing either side of two standards. Mint uncertain. Die axis 6 o'clock.
There is an old notched-shaped break in the outer edge of the coin, 4.3mm long, which extends 1.8mm into the flan. After close observation under a magnifying glass it is not possible to determine whether this break resulted from a drilled hole. The breakage is roughly 15% of the area of the coin.
