A copper-alloy nummus, cut down from a larger issue, probably of Magnentius or Decentius dating to the period AD 350 - 353 (Reece Period 18). Possibly FELICITAS REIPVBLICE reverse type depicting the Emperor standing left, holding Victory and standard. Mint uncertain.
Magnentius and Decentius were usurpers under whom larger than normal coins were issued. In 354, Contantius II outlawed these larger coins, probably at least in part to damn the memory of the unsuccessful usurper.
