Medieval gold stirrup-shaped finger ring, 13th century. The roughly rectangular setting in the bezel is hollow but would have contained a stone or glass paste. The flattened strip-like plain hoop is snapped at the back and was originally misshapen but has been straightened and the break overlapped by the finder. Length (bezel to back of hoop) 26.70mm, width 22.04mm, thickness (across bezel) 3.64mm, width of bezel (i.e. from setting to rear of bezel) 4.80mm, weight 4.36g.
