Silver unit of the Corieltauvi, Possibly issue of 45-10 BC (cf Van Arsdell, no. 884 -1), Haselgrove Period 2 Phase 6, ABC Phases 6-7. Cast scyphate flan with hammered device. Obverse description: Possibly vestige of boar, a curving line in relief. Reverse description: Stylised Celticised horse right, formation of four pellets above horse. Fine serration around the rim of the coin is an odd feature, and might indicate it has been cut or trimmed with a rouletting tool. White Metal coin. Hammered Celtic Unit, resembles issues of the Coritani and Atrebates, although both weight and size are more appropriate to their gold coinages. Obverse description: Blank Reverse description: Disjointed Celticised horse left; seven pellets above horse, oval with central pellet below horse.
