Post Medieval coin: soldinio of Leonardo Loredan (1436-1521) in Venice between 1501 and 1521. Soldini were minted in Venice, and known as galyhalpens (galley-halfpence) because they were often brought into Britian by Venetian trading fleets. Soldini were used as illegal alternatives to official issue halfpennies and farthings.

The coin was minted in Venice. It is cracked and slightly crumpled and is worn. Venetian coins are fairly frequently found in this country.
