Medieval buckle (late 12th to the late 14th century): The copper alloy single looped buckle frame is an ornate oval with the strap bar having an integral buckle plate. The sides of the buckle frame are convex on the exterior and concave on the interior, and the edge, opposite the strap bar, is thickened and has moulded oblique notches on the upper face. A perhaps late Medieval to early Post Medieval copper-alloy lozengiform bifurcating strap fitting with five separate rivets to clasp the strap in the bifurcation. The fitting has a large loop at the end opposite the bifurcation with a double collar. Wear to the loop suggests suspension.
