A very worn, silver Medieval cut halfpenny, dating from the reigns of John (AD 1199-1216) or Henry III (AD 1216-1272). The coin has been cut from around half past eleven to half past five on the obverse. The hair of the bust features a pellet enclosed within a crescent shaped curl and the crown has five pearls, both of which would mean that this is likely Class 5 onwards (AD 1204-1247). Minted in London by an unknown moneyer.

A Medieval silver cut halfpenny from the reign of Henry III (AD 1199-1216). Due to the shape of the 'R' being similar to that shown in fig.20 and the 'E' being similar to that in fig.10 (North Vol.I pg.219), the coin is likely a Class 5b short cross penny (c. AD 1205-1207). Moneyer is 'ROBER[D]', uncertain mint. The cut halfpenny is bent in half in a way so that the obverse is convex and the reverse concave.
