A Medieval Scottish silver coin; a cut half penny of William I (AD 1165 - 1214), Short Cross Phase B dating from AD 1205 - 1230. The moneyers were probably Hugh and Walter (HUE WALTER) and there is a grop of four pellets after the R of Walter. These pellets do not appears on any of the examples in Burns 1887, Volume 1 with reverse stars of six points as on this example, though figure 52, number 15 (page 79) maybe be the most similar. See also number 5029 on age 14 of Spink (2003) Coins of Scotland, ireland and the Islands. The coin is 18.9mm long, 9.7mm wide and 0.6mm thick. 0.66g.
