A Medieval Irish silver cut halfpenny of Henry III, AD 1216-1272. Voided long cross coinage dates from AD 1247-1279. This coin dates from AD 1251, when dies were sent from London to Dublin, through to AD 1254 when the mint was closed.
The obverse shows a forward facing crowned bust, cinquefoil to the right of the bust, with sceptre in triangular field. The obverse legend reads [HEN]RI./CVS R/E[X III].
