An authority based in Ireland kindly comments as follows: 'This is a coin of Henry III. The pellet waisted S puts it into [Slevin 2016, page 12] group 1. So making it S6236 to 6239, most likely class 1b (S6236) of Ricard Bonventre [1251-1254]. The coins can be with or without shoulders; only class 2d has the large shoulders'. Obverse legend reads [.../...]S RE/X[...]. 'REX' is possibly followed by 'ANG' or 'III' lower end of lettering just visible but illegible. Obverse shows forward facing crowned bust, and hand holding sceptre, within a triangle. Reverse legend reads DAV/[I ON/ DIV]ELI. Reverse shows a voided long cross with three pellets per quarter. Die axis is 3 o'clock. Weight is 0.63g, diameter is 18.2mm, thickness 0.8mm.
