A silver short-cross cut halfpenny struck in the period 1180-1247. The coin is a cut halfpenny and its obverse face has become almost completely illegible although the legend hENRIC[ ] is still visible. The reverse is a Short Cross type with a legend reading [ ]LTER . O[ ]. It was struck by the moneyer Walter but it is uncertain at which mint as a moneyer by this name is known from London, Canterbury, Lincoln and Northampton. The diameter is 16.71mm, the thickness is 0.57mm and the weight is 0.41g.
