Silver medieval cut long cross penny of Henry III. Moneyer: Unknown Mint: London (probably).
Due to the nature of the cut penny a sub type / class is difficult to identify. However, I feel that this should be best described as a penny of Class III which is dated 1248-50 AD. The reasons for the claisification is the lack of lines on the side of the head indictating a neck, the positioning of the inscription which is rather spread suggesting the Class III which reads HENRICVS REX III, rather than that of class II, HENRICVS REX TERCI. Other indicators to sub classify have been lost.
