A Medieval Scottish silver short cross cut halfpenny. The obverse is too worn to identify, but the reverse shows stars in the two angles, suggesting this is part of the Short Cross and Stars coinage ( 1195-1214 AD) or the Short Cross phases of Alexander II or III, (1214-1250 AD).

A short cross cut half penny. It is possible that this coin belongs to class 5c (Winchester mint), which would suggest a date at the end of King John's reign (1199-1216). However, the style of the letters A and R on obverse and reverse legends might indicate a later date in classes 6c1 or 7a, and thus Henry III (1217-1247).
