Cut halfpenny of Edward the Confessor. The moneyer is either Aelfgeat or Wulfgeat, neither of which are known to have struck this type of coin. Bust Facing/Small Cross. There are more than half a dozen mints where moneyers called Aelfgeat or Wulfgeat are known to have been active at about this time, one of which was Gloucester, but because the mint name is off the flan it is impossible to say for certain.
