A contemporary forgery of a medieval short cross cut half penny, dating from AD1180-1250. The core is of copper alloy, which has been silver plated. Much of the silvering has been lost and little of the detail, other than the cross pattee initial mark, can be seen. It is 16.6mm long, 9.5mm wide and 1mm thick. it weighs 0.58gm.
