1251-1272. Henry III (1216-1247) hammered silver 'cut' halfpenny, voided long-cross coinage. Length 18.1mm, Truncated width 9.6mm, Thickness 0.9mm, Diameter 18.1mm, Weight 0.7g. Probably class Va-Vc and therefore probably with a sceptre. Obverse: Crowned head facing. Inscription: [HENRICVS]R(E)[XIII]. Reverse: Long-cross voided with three pellets in each angle. Inscription: []CAN[]. Probably Canterbury mint. Die axis: 330 deg. or 11 o'clock. This coin has been cut at a 45 deg. angle across the head.
