A medieval coin; a London mint cut silver halfpenny of John (1199 - 1216) or Henry III (1216-72) of the voided short cross coinage (1216-47), probably class 6c3. The moneyer is either Ilger or Reiner. There is a pellet before the R of REX in the obverse legend and a pellet on each side of the copulative on the reverse. It measures 18.5 by 8.6mm and is 0.8mm thick. It weighs 0.66gm. For reference see North Vol. 1, No. 976.
