Silver Coin. Cut Halfpenny, probably a Short Cross issue of John (1199-1216) or Henry III (1216-1272). Possibly Type 6, issue of 1208-1218. The coin is suggested by its finder to be a Tealby Penny, but the rendition of hair as curls on the obverse and lack of clear crosslets on reverse allies it to later issues. Obverse description: Facing bust, probably with round eyes, hair of curls and pellet; the combination of these features might suggest Type 6.
