A contemporary copy of a medieval silver cut halfpenny, shortcross variety. The coin is made of copper alloy and presumably was once plated to give the appearance of silver. The obverse and reverse are sufficiently worn so that identification of the subtype is not possible. Struck circa 1180-1247.

The obverse has a forward facing bust holding sceptre left, with hair of three curls. The obverse legend is indistinct due to wear. The reverse has a voided short cross with a quatrefoil in each angle. The legend reads: IL[GER ON LU]ND.
