A medieval silver cut halfpenny of Henry III (1216-1272), long cross type, minted by Huge at Winchester. Class 2, struck 1248 (North 1994: 226, refs: 985). Obverse: hE[NRICVS REX] TERCI, Crowned bust facing without sceptre. Reverse: hVG/[ ]/[ ]/ChE, Voided long cross with three pellets in each quadrant. Diameter: 18.0mm. Weight: 0.67g. Ref. North, J.J. 1994. English Hammered Coinage, Volume I, Early Anglo Saxon to Henry III, c. 600-1272. Spink & Son, London.
