Silver cut halfpenny of Henry II (1154-89) short cross coinage, Class Ib (1180-85) or Ic (1185-9). Moneyer either Godard working at the mint in London or Godwine working at the mint in Worcester. Not enough of the coin and inscription survives to indicate the mint - the recorder prefers that this is a coin of Class 1b as the portrait and inscription seems neater and not debased. North: 963

A hammered silver short cross cut halfpenny of either Henry II (1154-89) or John (1199-1216). The obverse has the crowned bust facing with a sceptre in the right hand. The reverse has the voided short cross with a quatrefoil to each angle. The uncertainty of ruler is due to the moneyer RAV - most probably Rauf and the mint of London, which both Henry II and John have types. The balance of probability goes to John and type 6b.

This is a hammered cut halfpenny, probably of John (1199-1216). The obverse has the crowned bust facing with sceptre in right hand and the reverse has the voided short cross with quatrefoil in each quadrant. The coin is most probably type 5c with the moneyer Walter, that combination is indicative of the London mint for King John. The coin is in fair condition, cut and with some clipping

Here we have an interesting silver hammered cut half penny of Henry III (1216-1272). The coin is very worn but it is clearly a short cross variant and from the hand of ILGER and thus, the London mint.

This coin is a hammered silver cut half penny of Henry II (1154-1189). The legend has a stop before the 'R' of REX which would suggest a class1b. The reverse has the probable moneyer name of Raul which is indicative of the mint being either London or Exeter. The coin is struck a little off centre with no evidence of clipping.
