A Medieval silver cut half penny probably of John (AD 1199 - 1216), probably Class 5 dating from AD 1204 - 1207. This ID is based on the style of crown with five pellets in the band, and the pellets in the hiar curls. Mint of London. North (1991) number 958 - 971 on page 221. The striking appears to hve been off-centre with the design going off the edge of the flan. Both faces are also worn. The coin is 15.5mm long, 7.8mm wide and 0.5mm thick. 0.36g.
