A Medieval silver coin: a voided long cross cut halfpenny of Henry III (1216 - 1272), Class 2 - 3a dating from AD 1248 - 1250. The moneyer was Hugo, probably at Norwich. See North (1994) Volume 1, page 226 number 985/1 - 986. It is 17.2mm long, 8.7mm wide and 0.7mm thick. It weighs 0.63gm.

Silver coin. Cut voided long cross halfpenny of Henry III (1216-1272), probably Norwich mint, class 3a, issue of 1247-1272
Obverse description: facing bearded bust, hair of two curls and two pellets.
Obverse inscription: *HENRIC(---)
Reverse description: Voided long cross, three pellets in each angle.
Reverse inscription: WIZ/ION(--), pellet barred Z. If this is Norwich mint, then the moneyer is ION, suggesting a coin of class 2b to 3c.
Diameter: 17.2mm, Weight: 0.57gms.
