A contemporary copy of a medieval silver cut halfpenny, shortcross variety. The coin is made of copper alloy and presumably was once plated to give the appearance of silver. The obverse and reverse are sufficiently worn so that identification of the subtype is not possible. Struck circa 1180-1247.

A cut Medieval halfpenny, contemporary copper-alloy forgery of a muled or double-struck voided short and long cross penny, c.1180-1278 AD. One face of the coin has a voided short cross struck off-centre, while the opposite face has a voided long cross, both legends being largely illegible making close identification of type or ruler impossible.

A contemporary forgery of a cut halfpenny of Henry III or Edward I. This is a copper-alloy forgery of the silver voided long-cross cut halfpenny, genuine issues of which date from 1247 to 1279. Wren (1993: 68-69) suggests that such coins were made in Continental Europe, particularly in Westphalia (modern day Germany). The surfaces are corroded in places. It measures 18.3mm in diameter, 0.8mm thick and weighs 0.59g.
