A worn early medieval cut halfpenny of a Late Anglo-Saxon king, Eadgar (959-75), Edward the Martyr (975-8) or Aethelred II (978-1016) of the post-Reform issues (after c.975), uncertain type, mint and moneyer uncertain. The coin is very worn within the field on both obverse and reverse, with virtually nothing of the design remaining, and the inscriptions are only partial given its status as a cut fraction.
