A complete medieval gold half-sovereign of Henry VIII (1509-47), Third coinage (c.1544-1547; Norrth 1827; Spink 2295), Tower mint, initial mark: pellet-in-annulet. Ref: North 1991: 113.
Obverse; King enthroned, holding orb and sceptre, rose at feet. Reverse; crowned royal arms supported by rampant lion and griffin, HR at base.
The coin is well preserved, though bent at a c. 45 degree angle along its central axis due to post-depositional damage.

A Post Medieval gold half-sovereign of Edward VI (AD 1547-1553), dating AD 1549. North no. 1911. The reverse depicts the crowned bust of the king in profile facing right. The inscription reads EDWARD . VI : D . G . AG[L . FRA .] Z . HIB . REX. The reverse depicts a crowned garnished oval shield with the initials E and R either side and a V at the base. The inscription reads SCVTVM FIDEI PROTEGET EVM. There is an arrow initial mark on both sides. Minted at the Tower of London.
This coin has suffered some significant damage, both accidental and intentional. The edge is bent at one point…

The inscription reads SCVTVM FIDEI PROTEGET EIVM [May the shield of fidelity protect him]. The reverse has an oval garnsihed shield with the initials E and R either side. The insctiption reads EDWARD VI D G ANG FRA Z HIB REX. Minted at the Tower.
