A worn and corroded Post-Medieval pewter/lead-alloy token, dating AD 1575-1600, known as a 'Lyon counter'. The obverse depicts the standard lyon token obverse of a rampant lion within a circular banner, surmounted by a crown. Within the banner is the inscription HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE, though the QUI is obscured by the crown. A pewter post-medieval token or 'medalet' of Elizabeth I, probably dating c. AD 1574. The obverse depicts a double-headed eagle or aquila design with no legend and rimmed by a beaded border; the reverse depicts a crowned rose with 'GOD SAVE THE QVEN' around the outer edge and an E and an R at either side of the rose, has similar border to the obverse except finer possibly mimicking milled coinage.
