A Post-Medieval copper alloy coin, possibly intended to be a contemporary copy or forgery of a half crown of George III, dated 1819. There is a copper alloy core, still bearing traces of a white metal coating, the edge of the flan is millled and both obverse and reverse carry the design of a second issue, small laureate head halfcrown (Spink 3789). However, the flan is slightly misshapen and, with a diameter of 36.1mm, slightly too large to be easily mistaken for a genuine coin. It is 1.8mm thick and weighs 12.1gm.
