Complete milled silver crown of Charles II dating 1680AD.  The obverse has the laureate and draped bust of the king facing right with the legend CAROLVS II DEI GRATIA.  The reverse has a crowned cruciform shields with interlinked CC in the angles and the garter star at the centre with the legend MAG BR FRA ET HIB REX 1680.  Around the edge of the coin is a relief inscriptions reading DECVS ET TVTAMEN ANNO REGNI TRICESTMO SECVNDO. Fragment of a silver crown of Charles II, struck 1679. The obverse is almost worn clean, but has a series of radiating lines incised onto the surface. The depth and clarity of the lines suggests it was purposefully done after the coin was worn.

This coin has been pierced from the reverse with a sub-circular perforation, which is approximately 2.4 mm in diameter.
