Complete milled silver crown of Charles II dating 1680AD.  The obverse has the laureate and draped bust of the king facing right with the legend CAROLVS II DEI GRATIA.  The reverse has a crowned cruciform shields with interlinked CC in the angles and the garter star at the centre with the legend MAG BR FRA ET HIB REX 1680.  Around the edge of the coin is a relief inscriptions reading DECVS ET TVTAMEN ANNO REGNI TRICESTMO SECVNDO. A complete silver crown from the reign of Elizabeth I (AD 1533-1603), third issue, dating to AD 1601-1602. The obverse shows a crowned bust of Elizabeth I facing left with a legend reading ELIZABETH D G ANG FRA ET HIBER REGINA. The reverse depicts a square garnished shield over a long cross fourchée dividing the legend, which reads POSVI DEVM ADIVTOREM MEVM. The coin measures 42mm in diameter and weighs 28.67 grams. A silver Post-Medieval coin that has been altered into a dress accessory or mount. A silver frame, or rim, 1.4mm thick appears to be seperately attached to the outer edge of the coin, and is broken and coming away from the coin edge. Where the edge of the coin is revealed, some file marks are visible, suggesting alterations to the coin to make it fit into and adhere to the rim. The reverse shows a shield bearing the Royal arms of England, but the detail is very worn.
