Incomplete silver groat of Philip and Mary (1554-1558). Both faces are extremely worn and one section of the circumference is jagged from clipping. Various areas are bent. Very little detail is visible however it is possible to identify the letters PHILI on the obverse, which makes it possible to identify this coin as being of the reign of Philip and Mary (1554-1558), and its size makes it identifiable as a groat of this reign. The reverse shows little detail still, although the letters US DE, DI, and O remain intact, and are correctly placed to make up the reverse legend POSUIMUS…
