A silver Post Medieval coin; a halfgroat of Elizabeth I (AD 1558-1603) and dating from AD 1589-1592. Third coinage, Hand initial mark. See North (1975) Vol.2 page 113 number 2016. The coin has previously been folded across the flan between two o'clock and eight  o'clock on the obverse side, but is now straightened leaving a crease across the flan. The coin is 16.7mm in diameter, 0.9mm thick and weighs 0.92g.
