A late Iron Age silver coin, possibly a fractional unit or contemporary copy struck in the North East. The coin measures 8mm in diameter and is broken at one edge where approximately one fifth of the coin is missing. The coin is dished in plan, and decorated on both sides. A late Iron Age silver coin: a North Eastern half unit attributed to the Corieltavi, dating from Hazelgrove Phase 6, about 50 - 20 BC. As is usual, the flan is dished and one side has been struck from a very worn die, resulting in one face being almost blank, showing just traces of a boar motif. The other face depicts a celticised horse, facing right, with a solar rosette of eight pellets above. It is 12.5mm in diameter and 1.4mm thick. It weighs 0.45gm.
