Copper penny of James Murray, Second Duke of Atholl, (1690-1764), who became Duke in 1724 and inherited the Isle of Man, dated to 1758 on the obverse. The penny has the Isle of Man's motto QUOCUNQUE JECERIS STABIT, meaning "Whichever way you throw it, it will stand", on the reverse. This motto has been associated with the Isle of Man since about 1300. It was reportedly in use before this date by the MacLeods of Lewis as ancient Lords of the Isles of Scotland which, after 1266, included the Isle of Man.

Silver hammered halfgroat of Elizabeth, mint mar: bell (1582-83). The mint mark is fairly clear when looking at the coin, and the inscription starts with ELIZABETH and not ELIZAB. There are no pellets or rose behind bust and there is no date above shield. However, there were no halfgroats with that inscription after 1572 and all issues with the bell-mintmark (1582-3) have either pellets or roses or behind the bust.
