These are two copper alloy halfpennies of William III (1694-1702). Both coins were found in the same hole. One obverse has the laureate bust right and the reverse would have depicted Britannia seated. In each case, the coins are heavily corroded and the exact detail is no longer visible, only the coin to the left (1) of the photograph has remnants of the bust and legend remaining. The ID to the right (2) is based on its dimensions and it being found as a pair with the identifiable example.

A very worn copper-alloy coin. Both surfaces are badly worn and both legends are completely illegible. Under magnification it is clear that there are slight striations on both surfaces, which are just discernable by eye. Possibly a Halfpenny of William III (1694-1702) but to worn to identify with confidence. Die axis was not possible to identify, diameter 27.95mm, thickness 1.90mm, weight 7.16g.

This is a copper alloy halfpenny of William III (1694-1702). The obverse has the laureate and cuirassed bust right, with the reverse having Britannia seated left on globe. In this example, the hand of Britannia is raised thus the coin can be dated to the first or second issue 1695-98. The coin is now heavily worn and only the outlines of the figures now remain to both sides. The date is illegible

A highly worn and damaged late 17th-century post-medieval halfpenny of William III, Third issue (c. 1699 - c. 1701; cf. Spink 3556). This is possibly a contemporary copy in tin; the official coins are struck in copper, the last tin coins having been phased out in the early 1690s. It is slightly bent, heavily depleted, and appears to be delaminating.
