A copper alloy farthing of George II dating to 1737 which has been reused as a love token. The obverse of the coin depicts a laureate bust left. The legend reads GEORGIVS II REX. The reverse of the coin depicts Britannia sat above a shield and holding a sceptre or spear right. The year 1737 is below and refers to the year of manufacture. The coin has been bent into an S-shape and it is thought that this modification of coins was to create love tokens.
