Silver coin. Uninscribed silver half unit of the Corieltauvi, issue of 50-20 BC, Haselgrove period 2 Phase 6. The 'common' candidate is ABC 1836 'Allen ZA', though this coin does not match either ABC1836 or the 'extremely rare' ABC 1839 exactly. Chipped. Obverse description: Plain. Reverse description: horse with doubled front legs left, three pellets linked by straight lines above the horse and a single pellet, possibly within a ring, below the horse. Diameter: 9.9mm, Weight: 0.35gms

A worn Iron Age silver unit of the Western Region Dobunni tribe dating to the period c. 60-25 BC. The coin is a variant of the 'Cotswold Eagle' type, with an obverse head similar to Cottam's (2010:104) Head Type D. The cross motif on the reverse of the coin under the horse's body is derivied from a cock's head, however this example does appear a later style than is usually seen on most Cotswold Eagle issues. cf. ABC 2021.
