Lead possible token. A small cast discoid token with a strongly moulded and possibly cabled border confining a design incorporating a central pellet and six or more smaller pellets around it. This resembles an early post-medieval button front, but there is no trace of a loop, though a thickened part projecting from the plain back might represent an attachment for a small badge. The object is deeply nicked at one point. Suggested date: Late Medieval, 1350-1500. Diameter: 15.8mm, Thickness: 1.8mm, Weight: 2.94gms

Lead possible token. A thin disc with a tear at one edge, with a probably stamped design on one side; the other is plain. The display face bears a thick L-shaped figure above what may be a scroll or label which appears to have occupied the lower edge [as illustrated], with marks perhaps representing a legend. The object may equally have been used as a playing piece or a tally. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1600-1700. Diameter: 20.7mm, Thickness: 1.2mm, Weight: 2.65gms

Lead token. Cast token with moulded designs on either side, neither of which is immediately clear. The simpler scheme may represent a pair of spindly plants, with two or three tiny pellets scattered near them. The other side bears a more complex arrangement of straight and curving lines. These might include the triangular outline of a figure with over-long arms extended - but might equally not. Patinated. A token bearing a caricature face on one side and a similarly mysterious or casual arrangement of lines on the other came from an early 15th-century context at Lurk Lane, Beverley, E…

Lead probable token. Cast flat disc with moulded relief on one side. This appears to represent the head of an American Indian with a bonnet of closely-spaced short vertical feathers, which was an image associated with the sale of tobacco from the 17th century to the early 20th. The image is partly within a border; other interpretations of the device might be considered. The other side of the disc is smooth, though with finely scratched lines, mostly radial. Heavily patinated. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1650-1750. Diameter: 19.9mm, Thickness: 2.3mm, Weight: 5.64gms
