A complete cast lead token (Powell type 1) of post-medieval date (c.1500-1800). Description: The token circular in plan and uniface, depicting a five petaled flower, with an enlarged boss at the centre. Each petal appears to contain a fleur de lis within it. Between each petal, near the outer edge is another smaller pellet. No lettering or numbering is discernible. The reverse side is plain with a tiny indentation, or pin-prick, at the centre. The object is a circular, unifaced disk.There is a small amount of turning of and scarring at the edge, one surface decorated crudely with four groups of chevrons facing the centre of the disk, perhaps intended to form a cross at the centre. Obverse description: a square arrangement of four dots on a dull dark ground. Reverse description: double headed imperial eagle with a pellet [L] and annulet [R]below the heads, over a heraldic shield charged with a single horizontal bar. The token has lost a segment from the rim to the centre and may have been 'straightened', with a crease across the centre. The surface has a mid-grey/white patina.
