A flat, square copper-alloy coin weight probably from the 15th century. One surface has a raised triangular shield shape motif containing three lis. There is another line to left of the shield and probably one around the edge of the face, though the design is hard to see due to wear and pitting. The reverse appears to be blank. Withers tells us that these are French or English weights for the French ecu and half ecu, which were issued with minor weight variations, from Charles VII (1422-61) to the ecu a la couronne neuf of Louis XI (1436-1475).
