Gold quarter noble of Henry VI (1422-1461), based on large lis initial mark, likely to be early issue dating 1422-1430. The coin appears to have been clipped. Obv has a square shield quartered with the arms of England and France within a double stranded foil of 8 arches The coin has been double struck but appears to have a lis above the shield. The legend is largely worn or missing but would have read hEnRIC DI GRA REX ANGL. A mostly complete, Medieval, struck or hammered, gold alloy, Henry IV (1399-1413), House of Lancaster, quarter noble. Light coinage, standard type 'C'. The shield has three fleur-de-lys in the Coat of Arms, replacing four as previously displayed. Obverse: Trefoils and annulets beside and fleur-de-lys above shield with three lis in Coat of Arms of England and France within a tressure of eight arches. Inscription: HENRIC DI GRA REX (AN).
