A Medieval gold Ryal (rose noble) of Edward IV (AD 1461-1470, AD 1471-1483).
Description: This is a Ryal of the First Reign light coinage (AD 1465-1470), probably minted at Norwich, Mint Mark 'N' in waves.
Obverse: Crowned king in medieval ship with rose on hull, holding sword and Royal Arms, the inscription reads 'EDWARD DI GRA REX ANGL FRANC DNS YB'.

A fragment of a medieval gold ryal of Edward IV (first reign; 1461-1470), North 1549-53 (not further defined), mint uncertain. Ref: North 1991: 85.
The fragment consists of a part of the outer edge (probably around 15% of the overall edge) extending towards the field where a portion of the design survives. The breaks along each side are ragged and uneven.

An incomplete cast copper alloy uniface coin weight dating from 1464-70. The Edward IV ryal (Rose Noble) coin weight is sub-circular and measures 12.6mm in diameter, 2.4mm in thickness and weighs 1.75g. The edges appear to have been clipped. The obverse shows a single mast ship containing a soldier holding shield and sword. The reverse is plain.

A uniface cast copper alloy coin weight of Medieval (1464-1471) date. The coin weight is sub-circular in plan has a diameter of 18mm, is 3.7mm thick, and weighs 5.83 grams (0.21 ozs or 90.3 grains). The weight has a highly polished mid green patina. Some of this has been lost through abrasion in the ploughsoil. This has also distorted the edges of the coin weight and will have altered the weight. On the front face of the coin is an incised border. A unifaced cast copper alloy coin weight of Medieval or post medieval date.
The coin weight is sub-circular in plan, its diameter measures 16.7mm and it is 4.3mm thick. It weighs 7.11 grams (109.8 grains). It has an even mid-green patina. The whole weight has been worn and abraded.
